Welcome to part 3 of our beat the heat series for our FK8. In this segment, we are going to attach a full set of Trackspec Motorsports hood vents on our stock hood in an effort to help evacuate as much hot air from our engine bay as we can. We have been experiencing some of the hottest ambient air temperatures that these cars have ever seen before and it’s getting more and more crucial that we keep targeting key areas of improvement to keep temperatures at a consistent level.

From the HPDE and track testing, we have done so far with our FK8 we (like many others) have found that engine heat management is a big issue on these new Civics. While they pack a punch, handle great, and deliver awesome power you can only get so much of that kick before the car starts to pull lots of power out to help keep things cool or in worst case enter a limp mode and basically nullify your current lap in an effort to keep the engine safe and from overheating.
