Ok, ok let’s get to the good stuff now and get you familiar with this intake in final form.
27WON FL5 / DE5 Hybrid Intake Installed (Raw)
We won’t beat a dead horse, but the K20C1 motor runs hot. When looking at IATs on both the Type R Civic and Type S Integra, you’ll find that temps are a concern both entering the MAF and also entering the manifold post intercooler. The stock intake does a pretty good job keeping hot air out of the system, but no matter how you slice or dice it, IATs start crawling up the longer you sit there. The stock airbox also becomes a bottleneck for power when trying to shoot past 400WHP or so. Not gonna fly.
Ditch the Restrictive Enclosed Airbox
We designed the 27WON Hybrid Intake to employ a 3-sided Shroud rather than a traditional box you might see from other aftermarket intakes. Why? These boxes don’t help much in lowering temps. They seem to work as well as the OEM Honda Intake which is perfectly fine. But, the airbox becomes a bottle neck itself if it’s too small. Some even run a secondary snorkel to get more air into said box. So, we opted to ditch a complete box. We can do just as good of a job keeping IATs in check and optimizing flow without the enclosed box. With the hood closed, the shroud maintains a seal along the hood to limit hot engine air from entering the intake, something we spent lots of hours perfecting. If you’re looking for a supreme solution, look at adding in our air intake snorkel to bring IATs down even further.
Our shroud is offered in two color options, Raw Aluminum and Textured Black Powdercoat. Keep it stealth with Powdercoat or opt for the Raw finish to run as is, paint, coat, or dip to your hearts content.

Get All The Turbo Noises!!!
An enclosed intake keeps the turbo noises at bay. You only have a small opening for any sounds to escape from. Let’s be real, we want an intake because they sound awesome and this intake delivers in that department bigtime. The large filter and design allows all the noises to escape and reverberate off the metal shroud, which is exactly what we want. Speaking of filters, we’ll use a nice large dry-filter unit here. No need for oiling and you won’t find a small pancake filter that other systems use. It’s not worth it.

Rounding out our intake is our unique Billet twist-n-lock MAF you won’t find anywhere else. We came up with this design to allow for a larger air filter. This design makes installation simple, seals using a gasket, and just looks really trick sitting in your engine bay. We figure the less plastic here the better.
