The BIGGER Big Brake Kit, Putting a New 6 Piston Design Through Its Paces

Let’s be honest, who here doesn’t like to drive fast?


The answer is we all do. While we all know the joys of making a Honda Civic go fast, we also know it's just as important to make your car stop just as fast. That is why we developed and brought you all a complete brake system upgrade for the front shoes of your 10th and 11th Generation Honda Civic and Acura Integra.

Our current big brake kits toss the OEM calipers, rotors, and lines for upgraded components. The OEM rubber brake hoses are replaced with stronger stainless steel lines that won’t flex like the factory ones and gives you much more confidence in pedal feel. The one-piece cast gray iron rotors are upped in both diameter and thickness with a serviceable 2-piece rotor that adds minimal weight with its aluminum top hat. Then of course, we round it off with a billet forged 4 piston caliper offered to you in your choice of three beautiful colors(Red, Black and Orange). Onto the big news you've all come here for!

One thing we love to do here at 27WON is road race. We are big fans of time attack and our fleet of cars frequent road courses all across the Southwest United States several times a year. We love using our track time to both develop our parts and ourselves as drivers. What you will find as you push yourself and the car faster and faster each time is that you want to level up the car even more.

Now, while we love our 4-piston Big Brake Kit and it does great on track we couldn’t help but wonder… well what if we went bigger? Bigger rotors, larger calipers, more pistons, and all the BITE!!!

How would it work? Would we see a big jump in braking performance? Could we shave off a few seconds off a lap time in heavy braking areas? More importantly, would it be something you guys want?

Well, we decided to find out. For the past few months we have been secretly testing a larger Big Brake Kit for the late model Civic, Accord, and Integra. This kit utilizes a 6-piston caliper and beefs up the rotor size from 330x28mm to 356x32mm. Being both thicker and with a larger diameter means this rotor can handle tons of heat and abuse.

This exact kit is currently strapped to our 2022 Honda Civic Si and is being driven every day to see how she handles both the street and the track.

We’ve got it outfitted with brake caliper temp paint and temp strips that allows us to see how much heat gets pumped into the braking system and how efficiently everything works together.

So, while we continue to test and see how this kit performs, we want to know if this is something you guys would like to see us bring to market? Are there enough of you out there that want to make the jump from a 4 piston to 6 piston BBK?

Given our current 4-pot pricing, you can expect to see a kit like this retail for about $300-$400 more. We are considering replacing the 4-pot with the 6-pot if it continues to test out well.
