Big Brake Kit for 11th Generation Honda Civic Launches

If it ain’t broke then why fix it?

A saying you have probably heard before in a variety of applications. However, it’s not something you will hear us say very often. In this instance, it applies well to our freshly dropped Big Brake Kit upgrade for the 2022+ Honda Civic. Read on below to find out just what I mean.

In design blog part 1, we broke down the OEM specs and weights for the front brakes on the 2022 Honda Civic Si. We measured everything and got all the critical dimensions from the front braking system including the rotors, calipers, brackets, and associated hardware. Getting an understanding of where we were starting we then moved on to testing some prototypes.

Now, before we got too carried away, we noticed these OEM 11th gen brakes look a lot like the previous 10th gen 2016-2021 Civic brakes so let’s throw on our FC 10th gen Brake Kit and see if they fit and perform. Boy!

Not only did they fit, they performed great under the FE1 chassis. They look great, are sized well, and kick some serious butt on the street and on the track. Success!

Short of some small tweaks to dial in fitment, the 330x28mm 2x piece front rotors were right at home under the FE1 chassis. Their directional slots on the rotor ring help keep the surface of the pad clean by acting as a wiper blade of sorts and sweeping off dirt and debris that gets in between the friction surfaces. The rotor itself is vented which allows air to get in between the inner and outer face of the rotor. By keeping fresh air moving in between the rotor at all times, we can help keep temperatures in check under heavy braking performance. These vents are over 20% bigger than the OEM rotors.

For calipers, gone is the floating single-piston cast OE design for a 4x piston fixed forged unit. This caliper outperforms the OEM in every way you can think of. The four-piston configuration gives you more modulation in braking and feel. You actually get greater control of the brakes when driving in all scenarios. More pistons also means more braking force. With the extra pistons and larger pads that come with the bigger calipers you can not only stop quicker but last longer on the track.

The billet construction gives us a bunch of extra strength all while shedding weight. Now, that is impressive. Stronger and lighter? Two things we want in any aftermarket upgrade. This fixed caliper mounting helps us have nice even pad wear and a system that is much easier to service.

Now, what's a complete front Big Brake Kit if you don’t get the hardware and brake lines? This kit includes DOT approved stainless lines and grade 10 hardware.

We have had this kit on our 2022 Si since we got it last year. With 3x HTAC time attack racing events under our belt now and thousands of miles on the road, we are ready to bring this to market for the 11th gen Honda Civic.

So, while we work on helping you go faster don’t forget to stop faster too and pick up your kit today!

Confirmed fitment includes the 2022+ Honda Civic Touring, Si, and EX!
